ALGAESYS further improves manufacturing footprint & system performance.

We have just made a test run of our log components in a new material that uses less recycled polymer, is lighter and more sustainable, and accelerates the growth of our organisms on these logs during system start-up.

The new design was developed working with our mould manufacturer ImoplasticGroup, of Marinha Grande in Portugal. The new material results in each component being 15% lighter in weight, the injection mould run time being reduced by 30%, and the surface structure having a rougher surface to allow faster and stronger algae attachment.

As a result of the lighter weight, we will require less air (less energy) to rotate them; shorter injection mould run times will also result in 30% less energy during manufacture, with a corresponding GHG emission reduction.
