ALGAESYS at 2025MIECF: Presenting Circular Water Solutions
The Macao International Environmental Cooperation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) finished on Saturday 29th March, and we’re proud to have been part of the conversation on sustainable water solutions! Some very productive moves toward exciting collaborations!
Director James Lander took the stage to present “Circular Water and Waste Avoidance Solutions for Regenerating Economies”, showcasing how ALGAESYS is reshaping decentralised water recovery and resource efficiency. With rising demand and increasing pressure on freshwater sources, it's clear that a new approach to water management is essential - 海納百川 —and we're making it possible.

Lander had the pleasure of presenting alongside the President of APA - Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente, Mr. José Pimenta Machado illustrating effectiveness of policy implementing river reclamation and ecosystem regeneration through nature-based systems; and Mr. Gao Bo, Team Leader of the Research Group reporting on persistent pollutant issues at the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research. Our subsequent panel discussion was expertly moderated by Alfred Wong of Macau University. Keynote speeches were delivered by senior representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of PRC, Mr. Xu Bijiu and Ms. Tao Xiaosong.

Lander was also honoured to join a reception hosted for Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel by Portuguese Consul-General Alexandre Leitão and the local business and diplomatic community at Clube Militar. Thank you to Bernardo Pinho and the AICEP Portugal Global team.
